TeWai (the water); a moment in time when movement and flow meld together to create. Water is integral to my being and the language of Aotearoa awakens the song of my soul, therefore for me it was about finding a synergy between whom I am in the world on the outside and the spiritual essence from within …TeWai encompasses my all Anna’s art comes from her feelings, hopes and my dreams. Anna create’s with heart, forms that share stories. Stories about the world, the environment, and her involvement in living. “You may have a piece of my work….the work has a story, a story that is weaved in the dreams and visions of my viewpoints, melding of clay, the nurturing of its form and lastly the cloaking to enhance its standing in your world…..Therefore the gift I share with you is the discovery of a story within, that is then reflected to the world and means something to you” Anna’s world has developed progressively, always with an aspect of the creative arts. She has enjoyed the opportunity to be in the theatre, perform within a choral chorus and create impromptu theatre. Anna has shared the knowledge of fellow artists, of varying notoriety, from far & wide and with differing focus’s. “I believe that learning is continuous and through listening, observing and debating my technical skill will blossom and grow into its own” Anna states as she discusses the amazing path she has journeyed. Anna enjoys the structural beauty of large works, the challenge to build to the environment and the experiential relationships to be created with humanity. Anna is captivated by the ability to create powerful forms reflecting simplicity and is moving to add an aspect of delicacy to her pieces. She is fascinated by Texture and form. These are areas within her work which often take the role of narrator and tell the story. Experimenting with ways to cloak her work she shows particul enjoyment the unsystematic expressionalism that can be attained with the use of stains, matt glazes and smoke. “I share with you…the art of my heart”.
