ART Story No 21
Over the years I have created work for exhibitions, some accepted, some passed on and still the creations birthed...
This piece was a strong and dominant call to construct and be immersed within.....

'Growing Horizons'.  Te Atatu refers to the dawn,  energy and direction. This piece reflects the growing world on our horizon.  The steel depicts our journey into infinity, where all is possible from the knowledge of who we are.  The journey is shown in its fluidity, as it follows the dreams and wishes of those that gather together to move with the earth beneath their feet.  The cones take position and space that speak of the energy that is growing within the environment.    The city is frenetic, and forever changing, the bridge links the world of commerce and growth, the rural communities that have solidity and consistency

ART Story No. 20
Marama
Ahh the moon arrives in my world, the many sides of living life are reflected in her sharing.  Nightly she shimmers and reminds us of the hidden beauty of our earth we miss during the day, the shadows, the breathing and the nocturnal living… My moon has been birthed from fire in my pit and the flames licked her beautifully, and her rays of flax tantilise the world

Bowl of waves

Pit fired wrapped in tinfoil(saggar) allowed the swirls of copper and iron oxide to settle and begin its own story… A story of fire, heat and facing the flame…. A story of possibility, step back from expectation and see the beauty that is gifted…

My 'creating' has expanded over the years and my world view has been stretched with generosity of heart gifted by others who have shared with me over the years their techniques, materials and inspiration... thankyou, thankyou, thankyou all...
and
YES
I am still growing with my community of 'aroha'

Bird of ‘bonny’ heart

So a small family arrived to share my day and calm my world. The stillness of these well rounded birds demand me to breathe… as I cup them in my hands and sigh

Birds of Heart

The morning wakes and the birds around me are the first to welcome the rising sun with their chatter and calls.
These little friends are my forever garden walkers… sitting in wait for the perfect bit of substance, and the gathering of their families.  I realise that Birds are my awareness of moving forward, accepting challenge and taking flight.

Art Story No16

Rena
Rena arrived to reflect my view of one of NZ’s ecological disasters… I questioned soo deeply, ‘how we humans are changing our environments forever’.  I celebrated how Nz’s rallied around to support mother nature to cope with the ‘accidental’ running aground/reef of a container ship off Mt Maunganui and the consequences of pollutants.  This disaster was on my doorstep, in my kneck of the ‘world’.  Wake up!!!

Forever Growing - ‘Heart’ series

Over the year ‘heart’ has come to me in many forms… the journey we have travelled over the last few years have been outside our norm, outside what was considered and viewed from a different angle …

This piece is acknowledging the forever growth of living in ‘heart’.  Here the heart is held by our universe gently from below and watered with life from above.

Please Note: All art story's will travel to 'Journey of Art' Tab... NO. 1,2,3,5,6,8,9,10,11 12, 13 & 14

Weaving of life

Weaving has brought a calmness of view to my world, and an opportunity to meld in my ceramic creations.  I celebrate Janice who sits with me and shows me the world of aroha thru harakeke
