Welcome to my 'creative' world...
The winter provide a welcome re-set time, and I am now moving into the 'spring' of my exploration....
My thanks to all that visit and follow me, the patience you have shared as I took a breathe

I will begin to add new work... weekly ... so look out for my inclusion of new mediums and techniques
gifted to me by my community in various forms...

Ahh the sharing of a community, these beautiful fibres are gifts from the humble sheep including the rare breed -arapawa, the inquisitive alpaca and the lofty lama that live around me

I have linked into those around me that use fibres and begun to explore the traditional uses... and now I am beginning to play... to think outside the box and find the stories within..
I have played with weaving, spinning, felting,

Living Landscape of our Changing lifecycle
Great Plate 2022 - Fundraiser for the local 'Quarry Arts' which supports the community by providing 'working spaces to create and offers workshops for learners - young and old'
For this event we are gifts a 'thrown' plate if wished and then Artists ar asked to create their story for the plate, it is then Auctioned off to provide funds for the likes of a 'wood kiln'
This work is to celebrate 'Yvonne Rust' she founded the 'Quarry' space and inspired the community to carry it on. She was a painter and a potter..and lived beneath Mt Mania.  I have seen her landscapes... and this work was to reflect her love of the world around her, the mountains... I used the ceramic plate, lines of 'taniko weave' homespun straight from the fleece wool which hung from a totara branch...

My 'creating' has expanded over the years and my world view has been stretched with generosity of heart gifted by others who have shared with me over the years their techniques, materials and inspiration... thankyou, thankyou, thankyou all...
and
YES
I am still growing with my community of 'aroha'

Weaving of life

Weaving has brought a calmness of view to my world, and an opportunity to meld in my ceramic creations.  I celebrate Janice who sits with me and shows me the world of aroha thru harakeke

Find the Woman in Blue that looks to warmth above, her hair flows as a green cloak. I thank my mentor Lynette for sharing both her time and her bountiful found glass collection
